Anekdoten Reviews

From: David Kuznick <>  It's funny, because up until last winter, I really didn't care much for Anekdoten AT ALL. I have Vemod, which just struck me as almost a total Crimson clone, and very brash and annoying for the most part. I didn't hear Nucleus, but a friend lent me From Within and I immediately fell in love with it, and bought it (actually made Ken Golden sell me his personal copy when I visited in December because he was out of stock :). Such powerful emotion, subtlety, great use of Mellotron, lots of intensity without quite the amount of dissonance as before (but still enough of it to keep things interesting), etc. I felt the same with their performance. It REALLY touches me on a very deep level. It just "works". I can't describe it much better than that, unfortunately. I can understand how some could find it boring, but it just doesn't feel that way to me. And I STILL don't much care for Vemod. Have you heard From Within?
